The Leavenworth City Council discussed dual affordable housing initiatives at a recent meeting. The city amended its grant agreement Dec. 12 with Upper Valley MEND, a Leavenworth-based nonprofit, to designate $600,000 city money for the nonprofit to acquire 218 W. Whitman St. and 106 Joseph St.
